Jump is founded around the idea of team. We believe that if you put four fairly intelligent people in a room together, that team will beat the pants off a loose affiliation of lone geniuses around the globe any day of the week. Jumpsters Alan Van Pelt and Jono Hey have been involved in Cal-Berkeley’s New Product Development class for years, and their article for the Journal of Mechanical Design on the program with professors Sara Beckman and Alice Agogino emphasizes the benefits of teams for open-ended projects. Students from the course reported tremendous benefits from actually being thrown into tight collaboration with one another while figuring out what’s next.
