Innovation Expert and Former VP of Harley-Davidson Joins Jump Associates
Monday January 14, 4:49 pm ET
Lara Lee Recognized by BusinessWeek as `Master of Innovation'
SAN MATEO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jump Associates, an innovation consulting firm that helps clients create new ways to grow, announced today that Lara Lee has been named to its senior leadership team. Formerly the vice president of enthusiast services for Harley-Davidson, Lara was recognized by BusinessWeek in 2006 as a ‘Master of Innovation.’
At Jump, Lara will help corporate leaders to build new businesses, define new products and services, and establish processes, metrics and cultures that support sustainable growth. With experience in starting new enterprises and leading large organizations, Lara is uniquely equipped to counsel senior growth leaders on strategies for successfully navigating the corporate terrain to advance new business. She joins Jump’s team of “hybrid thinkers” – people who solve the most complex growth challenges by drawing on experience, knowledge and methods from the cutting edges of social science, design and strategy.
“Jump’s strongest asset is our team of hybrid thinkers – individuals capable of viewing problems through multiple lenses and working in teams to achieve breakthrough results,” said Dev Patnaik, Jump founder. “Lara’s rich innovation experience and creative vision will strengthen the core of our company and create greater value for our clients. Her ability to identify people’s needs through empathy-based insight and then create growth strategies, products, and services centered around those needs is remarkable. We are excited to have Lara on board and eagerly anticipate the contributions she will make to our team and to our valued clients.”
Prior to joining Jump, Lara spent 14 years at Harley-Davidson building new businesses, leading change and driving growth to extend the company beyond its core business. She headed efforts to bring non-traditional customers to Harley-Davidson through new ventures such as Rider’s Edge motorcycle training, motorcycle rentals, travel and tour planning, online services, factory tours, and the groundbreaking Harley-Davidson museum, set to open this year. She now looks forward to bringing the same passion for change and innovation to Jump’s client base, which includes Nike, Procter & Gamble, Hewlett-Packard and Target.
“Jump’s culture focuses on helping clients to discover and develop new opportunities for growth. It’s a continual process of new business creation. To say that I’m pleased to be joining this unique and talented group would be an understatement,” said Lara. “I’m excited to help clients prosper by leveraging their strengths and connecting with real people’s needs. Starting the new year off at Jump is very energizing, and I look forward to helping our client companies accelerate their growth in 2008 and beyond.”
Earlier in her career, Lara held positions in finance at Otis Elevator Co. and as an executive consultant at Ernst & Whinney. She holds dual master’s degrees in business administration and international affairs from the University of Pennsylvania and the Wharton School of Business, and a bachelor’s degree in Chinese language from Brown University.
